modern feminism

Hey everyone!!! it's melon here again and this week I observed a lot of words linked with feminism. last time in a poll when we asked people what they think is the meaning of feminism sadly 40% of them were wrong which left us melonbroken. So, no there are many terms linked with this one word like fake feminism, modern feminism but mainly there are 3 kinds: radical, socialist, liberal, etc. I not going to bore you by talking all that.

It all started when my relative and I had that beautiful conversation...

She asked me when you will be married and if either you or your husband has to stay at home who will that be? (my background; Kamla Bhasin is my real hero and I have read many of her books) by all the logics I had, I answered "the person who will be earning lesser than the other will stay at home", for a second she looked as if she had gone to coma after hearing this answer. I was confused and was waiting for her to say anything, after coming back to the current world she showered me with the most enlighting words she could use by saying "BITCH!! YOU WILL STAY AT HOME if you want to run your household peacefully". All that I had learned in all these years had gone to the portal of trash. I got one more reason not to study though but still, I had already gone far with this. 

It is still believed for a happy home a man must earn even if you have to stay unfed somehow.

MODERN FEMINISTS

It's like every woman and a couple of men are feminists today which is a happy thing because feminists believe in equality among all genders. The problem with many is that being so much of feminists they don't really know what it means(one of the reasons why they say, read books in school) to represent themselves as feminists many girls(or so-called influencers on social media) wear a least of clothes and establish themselves as modern, young, free and mostly strong. Now, One thing that I don't want to hurt anyone's sentiments but fuck it who cares. Wearing lesser clothes or posing a little extra doesn't make you a feminist,  you as a person having an ideology of a feminist makes you feminist no matter what you are wearing. You, abusing in public to feel as good as a man doesn't make you a feminist or smoking or drinking none of these things make you feminist sister or not doing any of that also is not what makes you a feminist. Being a feminist means is that you know about your rights and using them when the time comes. Let me be sure that I am communicating the message rightly, your habits don't make you feminist your mentality does.

Why am I saying this?

Its because I have seen this all. I have seen influencers representing a very new and wrong idea about this term. At once we are independent the other second we want men to pull chair for us. one second we want all the luxuries the other second we don't want to pay for it. 

All that television drama

Last night I was watching a TV series with mom and dad called "bhabhi ji ghr pr hain" in that show many times they have shown woman hitting man because of some funny reason and according to them that is suppose to be funny and in fact, our parents really find it funny because a man is getting beaten by a woman as he is sissy. The person who stays at home is always tortured because of no one happens to worth their work shows the ugly picture of reality. I am here watching that and thinking isn't that abuse as well?

In Bollywood, almost every time an actress gets in trouble and her hero comes and saves her. Before that, in our picture books, the princess always used to be in trouble and prince charming used to come and save her. All this influences our youth and even children. It is our responsibility to show our kids how can the world be equal.

When will we take charge of our daughters and tell them to not expect anything from her future husband and make an empire for herself and when will we teach our boys to not see the beauty of their girlfriends as a status symbol. 

this is how society works and its really difficult to understand how? We can read we can watch we can write but many times we are confused about what is right because maybe it is right for us and not for our parents. 

Feminazi

Kamla Bhasin ma'am rightly said the opposite of patriarchy is not matriarchy but equality. patriarchy is a negative word and so is matriarchy and no two negatives can be opposites of each other. sisters, we are strong, independent, and great willed we need to improve ourselves with the knowledge to turn the world around.

We need not be feminazi to stand for our rights we will stand here for equal competition, if we don't get that we will fight.

 

let's not confuse the next generation by giving them gender roles and let them decide whether they want to be masculine and feminine because these both are not sexes but roles given by society
