1. How the body reacts to dieting?

The mechanism of our body has been created to challenge harsh environments. Many decades back our ancestors used to live in a harsh climate, there was the unavailability of food, long famines, etc. thus, our body over the years has adapted itself to survive all those. Now, to survive those when we eat more than needed our body just stores it because according to it, it is saving energy for upcoming famines while in this new era due to the availability of so many varieties of food we tend to eat more and our body stores.

2. How can you pick one, when soooooo much is available?

We live in the era where the availability of food is so high to some people while many have lack of basic food to survive. Still, due to the marketing strategy of food-producing companies we just can't stop thinking about it. Anywhere you see you find hot delicious food pictures and videos that are only one call away.
scientifically true, there are 2 types of hunger 1. physical hunger 2. psychological hunger(hunger of boredom) there are actually ways by which you can differentiate between two.

physical hunger is when you feel discomfort due to hunger while psychological hunger is when you feel like having a certain kind of food.

physical hunger is when you eat normal staple food and get satisfied while in another type you only get satisfaction after having specific food and feel guilty after having it.

3. why do we stress eat?

We have hypothalamus in body, which can be mischievous at times. When we are in stress we feel like having food that is rich in carbs and fat which due to experience our body knows are instant energy givers. when we are in the situation of acute stress our body releases adrenaline due to which we don't feel hungry at all while in the situation of chronic stress it releases cortisol, and that's the reason why body thinks we are in need of instant energy and consume fat and carb-rich food and all this reminds us of foods like pizza, burger, etc. (so, called cravings) After consumption of these food products hypothalamus releases dopamine(which is also the reason behind satisfaction after sex) and due to this satisfaction we just can't stop after eating one which leads to binge eating.

4. Why am I not losing weight even after pushing myself too hard?

At times we push ourselves too hard to accomplish our goals and consume very less than required. We skip meals that's the reason we gain more. When we skip meal once it doesn't matter much. But,
after that time when we eat our body tends to sense that this is the period of emergency, there is a need for energy storage for the next time it happens. Thus, what we eat is stored more than utilized.

Our body has a set point from where it doesn't want to move. So, when we decrease our body weight by crash dieting our body pushes itself in many senses to gain it back. Though the setpoint is manageable while it might need an expert care at times. One can take sessions from dieticians to overcome this yo-yo effect.
